This wouldn't suprise me. One of the favourite morsels I put out onto the bird table in the garden is finely chopped up roast chicken shin. The little buggers love it. Especially blackies and spugs.
Just got back from shooting this morning, three nice 3/4 grown rabbits, should be tasty!
Interesting though, the second one I shot, fell over poleaxed, and I left it there, since it was 35 yards away and there were still others roaming around grazing and I didn't want to spook them. I sat there watching, and a hen and cock pheasant roamed into view. Wasn't particularly bothered, since I wasn't going to shoot them. I was gobsmacked though, to see them both run, well walk quickly, you know what pheasants are like, up to the rabbit and start pecking at it. I decided at this point that I would retrieve it! They weren't too keen to give up their find and only reluctantly scarpered when I was about 10 yards away.
Carniverous Pheasants?
Old age is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Its a well known fact that anything/anyone living near Birmingham has a perculiar taste if food.

You can often find pheasants eating road kill even other pheasants.

The ox is slow, but the earth is patient.

Chickens are quite notorious for eating anything and everything including each other especially in less than ideal environments such as battery farms.
I've always thought of pheasants as chickens with the brain removed and a fancy set of clothes. Consequently it doesn't really surprise me that they would have a go at fresh meat.

Fabricatum diem, pvnc!
Before most pheasant food on shooting estates was of the bagged and delivered variety, 'keepers used to feed pheasants with a wet mix that contained quite a bit of minced rabbit etc.
