Took my HW97 up to Brum yesterday for a Lazerglide, so roll on 10 weeks time (although the guy who took my rifle in reckoned it would be quicker). So back to my old Beeza in the meantime. Can't wait to be shooting mid to high 50's in the club comps (yeah, right).

Been waiting ten weeks for mine so far, and still not done as of yesterday, so good luck with the wait, mate....

I don't mind waiting for a top job. I suppose the alternative is for venom to take on a load of YTS kids (do they still exist?) and have them churning lesser quality stuff out in double-quick time. I'd rather have the quality that Venom has become renowned for, even if it takes a bit longer.
I'll probably change my tune (sorry about the pun) after a few weeks![]()
Jon.
When I dropped it in I thought ten weeks would fly by. I just keep ringing, and waiting, and ringing, and waiting, and hoping. Still I hope its worth it when I get it back, and it is something to look forward to... Jay
It will be. Mine is as smooth as a babys arsheOriginally Posted by jayboy
Ten weeks doesn't sound so bad to me. I've got to wait for a year for my Whiscombe. I've got a few toys to play with in the meantime though![]()

*hugs 97K* no nooooo ones taking you away dear
Fair point - until fairly recently I had only one rifle and ten weeks without that would have been horrible. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of having just one rifle though. If I do sell up - I know which one will be left in my cabinet -my Air Arms Pro-Sport.

It is worth waiting for, mate, trust me! All my springer are Lazaglided and they never failed.

the pro sport is a nice gun granted, but i much preffer my 97K me and a mate go shooting regularly, i have a 97k and he has a pro sport, we swop round from time to time, and i just cant get my head around the pro sport, it feels to thin and weedy for my tastesOriginally Posted by lionel
It's a shame Venom haven't got a better booking system: Losing your rifle for 10 weeks just so it can spend 9 weeks in the rack seems an unnecessary waste of time to me. Surely they could have a system where you make a booking 10 weeks in advance with the stipulation that you get the gun to them, say, a fortnight before it's due in the workshop?
I suppose when you've got the reputation as the best in the business you can get away with this - but it'd put me off.
Just buy an Air Arms - then you won't have to p!ss around like this!![]()

I've never heard the Pro-Sport described as "thin and weedy" before. Some people worry that it's too heavy. Having said that - everything seems thin and weedy next to my Eliminator - and I bet your 97k would too. So thereOriginally Posted by Excypher

DJP, you can book your rifle in at venom i always do, just put a deposit down and they will assign you a job number then give you a ring when a slot comes up, Steve Pope prefers to do it this way as they sometimes struggle for space in the custom shop. Jim.![]()
