young brother in law has this rifle just over a year old, it's leaking air into the barrel, push the pellet probe home and air escapes out of muzzle, or from breech, and muzzle, if bolt withdrawn, any pointers which seal needs replaced, and is it easy for a competent diy guy,or gunsmith only, thanks for any help.Den.

i know the ultra will have anti tamper on it. it depends if enough of the rifle can be stripped down to replace the offending seal without need to remove the anti tamper, if it can't & he's not confident in removing it, then send it to an airgunsmith

if it leaking air down the barrel it sounds like valve problem

Definitely sounds like the firing valve, probably got some muck (or even microscopic manufacturing swarf) holding it open. If he bought it new and its just over a year old, get it back to the shop and have BSA fix it, that way he'll still have warranty left.

Other than that - XTX Air ! Darrin is a top bloke

Thanks guys,Den.PS, would there be any benefit in filling rifle with a bottle, rather than his pump, thinking that maybe a quick blast of air may dislodge any dirt in valve, or is that wishful thinking.

quick blast of air from a bottle can some time help for inlet valve but not normally the firing valve what you could try is cocking the rifle first them charge it up

some times the valve can reseat it self worth a try
