The FN12 does have a power curve due to being unregulated and having such a small reservoir. So all things being equal a gun with a regulator and large reservoir - should be better - yes???

9fps is what you'd expect from any gun over 10 shots, 9fps over 100+. would be brilliant. In reality anything less than 20fps makes bugger all difference down range.

The point i'm trying to make : is it really so much better than a low end gun?

You mention the "sweet spot" - yes most airguns have a power curve as they are unregulated. Regulators were designed to give a sweet spot over most of the charge using a higher fill pressure to allow more shots per fill.

The point of my post was to see if the op's rifle with all of its tweaks and top notch regulator and large reservoir is more consistant than a low end knock open firing valve gun.....

Charlts i think you are getting carried away with how many shots you get from a fill

If it does as many shots per fill as a Rapid that's brilliant, if it's as easy to improve the shot count as a Rapid even better. Shot count and consistency is only part of the equation really, it'll have a better trigger, better mag system and has a lovely stock too. All the small improvements on more expensive kit add up and yes there is a law of diminishing return, but those small improvements are what makes the op's rifle better than a Falcon.

Let's face it, if we all shot the same kit it'd be more boring than if we liked the same kit.

It must be better than my falcon then as its got a magazine???

    But is it £900 better???

Is it £600 - £700 better than a regulated Theoben Rapid???

I agree it looks nice and is probably better than a rapid..

I just had to make my point after the snipe at "low end" guns

99% of shooting is all about the nut behind the butt
