    The Showdown

As it is very quiet around the BBS at the mo, I thought I would let you know the outcome of todays Bisley Vintage showdown between Long Tommy and Little Eva

Both rifles had to be de-coked with about 30 pellets to clear the excess oil and grease from being stored for a while. Tommy came out of his corner, punching his weight straight from the bell, hitting a six inch square stainless steel plate at 35 metres every time with a sobering metal thud...

Little Eva, the very early light/ladies pattern started slowly, but with a little trigger adjustment, she was also on the money, maybe not as loud as Tommy but still as consistent, maybe a little faster too.

The Verdict was close with Eva just getting up on the line, due to her light weight tapered body

    Hey Pete,

A pair of real beauties there. The .177 may win on the beauty stakes, but there is something great about the loud thwack as the .22 pellet hits the target that wins me over every time. The sheer grunt of the .22 has to win 'real men' over every time surely?? Plus with my clumsy fingers, they are a fair bit easier to load as well
Course if you are out to show your feminine side, maybe the sleeker lines of the .177 might do it for you....

    Happy Days

Watch out, Pete! I think it's a trap!

As big and fat as I am, 30 rounds through Tommy after being carried around for an hour, makes it a no brainer for compos

    Early light wins out....
