Webley Premier .22 Valuation Please

Hi

Would be grateful for any advice on value for my 1975/6 .22 Premier.
I have owned this from new and used it very little - in fact the tin of pellets still has around 50 left and I have never used
any others. This has been in a drawer for most of its life and is in excellent "near mint" condition. It has never been tampered with
or serviced. Cocking feels a little dry on the slide now so probably could do with a good service.

It has the letter F on the trigger guard but it could possibly be and E, it's difficult to tell as the foot of the letter is short so it could be either.

Any suggestions as to value including original box, paperwork and pellet tin.pellets would be appreciated.

Very nice. Pistol paperwork box and pellets my opinion £150 - £ 200. It is the steel version but coated not blued. Not everyone's favourite as it was made when Webley were trying to reduce costs. A very nice example.

I bought an exact same set (including the factory copied supplementary instructions, as well as the normal instructions etc), but with a trigger tag, about 4 years ago and paid £150

It's a long time since I've seen such a clean pistol with its box and bits. I find it hard to value, as the blued Premiers are generally more desirable, but this particular epoxy-coated version was only available for a short time. I would say £180 plus post.

I believe I read somewhere that the E series Premiers had the Suncorite finish whereas the F Series brought a temporary return to a blued finish.

Anyway, a very nice pistol and given the great condition and accompanying paperwork, pellets etc I would agree that £180 would be about right for a private sale.

Webley Premiers are rightfully receiving a little more attention from collectors today than they used to and although these later models are not seen as desirable as earlier blued versions, we should remember they were only made for a couple of years and a pistol in this condition, with a full compliment of accessories should prove a nice find for someone. I wouldn't argue with previous valuations of £180.

The letter code should be an E by the way and I have seen some part covered by the left stock side in the past.

I agree with Ash. Once its gone, you'll never find another one to replace it, and the value is going up quicker than bank interest rates!

I never regret anything, life's too short. Anyway, I look on it as passing on the collectables to the next generation of Webley fans, and they couldn't be in better hands. I never intended to collect Webley rifles, the number sort of grew over the years, as it does. So new collectors beware, you may need to move house!
