Dont you get it? Its a manufacturing ploy. We have all seen or spilt dozens of pellets due to unsecured tin lids. Now think of the lost production/sales if they produced secure lids. 'Gladys' runs his hobby off what is spilt at our indoor range. Hes been shooting 10 years and never bought a tin of pellets mind you he does sit there for hours filing .22 down to .177.

    H&N tins wind me up

Why cant all pelle tins have screw on lids?

It's so easy to pick only the lid up, or worse, let go of the tin because your only holding the lid.

Also, if they get knocked over, yuo can count on the lid falling off

We used to dream of tins.

Just like the Marksman pointed pellet of my old ASI days. A shower of rain and the bottom would fall out of the box. They were rubbish pellets anyway

I bought some Exacts today and the sticky tape doubled over on itself when I took it off. No tape on the lid now. Great pellets though

It takes you a full tin to zero, as normally you put the scope on the wrong way.Remember that time at the club when you couldn't get it to zero-turrets were on the top & the left hand side-doh

Custom made pellet carriers They cost me £2.19 each, you can have them for 1/2 that Even though I have spent ages making them lighter, & more capacious
Bright Red screw on lid, with excellent serrated grip moulded in, (top & bottom). German made by top ultra well known manufacturer, printed in black "500 Perfecta" cal 4.5mm, but they will hold any sort of pellet you like

These Highly sought after custom pellet carriers are in limited supply, mostly in perfecta condition, WARNING: may contain traces of lead, maybe even pellet lube.

Contact me by reply to this thread, no emails or PM ta very much.
I thought this would get more viewings here than in the for sale section

Question What do you keep your pellets in?

I keep my pellets in a 35mm film container. Just 65 at a time (at this point I know the rifle needs a recharge) with a bit of sponge on top to stop them rattling around, I also put a drop or two of Napiers pellet lube in as this give me some very good results without fouling the rifling of the barrel.

I always manage to (accidently) slightly squash my ftt tins, so its a right pain to get the lid off as the lids so smooth. Once open I pop a small amount in the top deep pocket of my ripstop surplus jacket and away I go.

I always keep a tin in the glove box of my car as I alays have my car with me and so never forget them.

I use an AAfield .22 "tin", which is made of plastic, and has a clip-on lid.
'Cos it's bigger, it's more stable, and easier to take .177 pellets out of.

Very true , however I am proud to announce it is now found, so I should really update that.

I can imagine the reaction on the face of some people at work who I gave a lift to if that fell out the glove box

    Thats a good idea.

Just not happy about throwing away the best part of a whole tin of accupels so that I can put my lazerdomes in it (well they work nicely in the 410).

Generally though, I load up 2 mags and thats enough for a hunting sesh...it is ****** annoying retrieving gritty hairy pallets from the bottom of my crap bag though

You did it and couldn't get the lid off again? Me too
