5.52 tend to be the standard for JSB derivatives (Daystate/AA Fields etc).
5.51 and 5.53 are available for barrels that prefer them.
There's no easy way to test what brand/size is best for your gun other than to buy and try. Pellpax sell trial packs if you're having real problems. If the skirts get light damage as you put them in it's highly likely to make no difference to their performance as they get distorted to the barrel by the blast of air when you fire.
Edit.....Gamo have their own brand and I was highly surprised when I found I could group their heavies to an inch at 40Yds with a borrowed Gamo break barrel.
