    Airsoft power levels?

    At what power level does a pistol designed to shoot 6mm plastic bbs become an airgun, and thus not affected by UK airsolt laws?

    Many thanks.

    Can you think, off hand, of any pistols that fall into that category?

    I don't suppose there are many, but I'd heard that the ASG KWC Glock clones might.

    I think the broomhandle mauser that was out was overpowered for airsofting with - we used the rule of thumb 350fps for .2g bbs..

    .2g = 3.08 gr by 370fps = .94fpe!!!! or 1.27j

    I think there might be more than you think, I know the KWC copy of the S&W Sigma does, and there is one range of Glock clones that definitely do too.

    Place to check apparently is Solware, as they've got a big range of them.

    Good luck.

    Thanks.

    I've looked at the Solware site, and it looks promising but isn't crystal clear.

    My mistake.

    I've just checked the Solware site again, and the ASG Glocks are less than 1 joule.

    I think a lot of the Cybergun pistols are available in 6mm as well, I picked up the Tanfoglio Gold Custom in 6mm accidentally. Shoots really nicely.

    See the disclaimer on the link below. Which is on the index page for all the 6mm pistols.
