Yes, they can. Most gases held in a liquid state will adhere to the same laws ( Boyle's, I think).
But. .. having owned dozens of airsoft guns and airguns for many years what I can say is this.......
Rapid firing a gas powered airsoft pistol is more consistent and less affected than doing the same with a co2 powered air pistol. Both are affected by cooldown, but the airsoft gun slightly less so.
Also, pistols made from mostly abs plastics are less affected than all metal guns.
