    The Baikal 'Makarov'

Hi. Been lurking on this forum for a while but haven't really made a contribution as of yet. So today I thought I'd share some photos of both my Baikal mp-654k co2 pistols, one of which has had the original parkerised finish removed and hot reblued and consider it to be one of my most prized airguns.

Very nice that the makarov is one of my favourites too. Just soooo much better quality than similar pistols.

    Lovely job.

If you don't mind me asking, who removed the parkerised finish and blued the gun? Was it hot blued? Certainly looks like it.

Recognize the Gen5, one of the best looking I've seen and contrary to popular opinion, I prefer it without the markings on the Rt side

Not my Gen1, but i do have a Gen1 that will stay as original as when I bought it apart from Bakerlite grips - a vast improvement IMO

I also have a 3 5s, one with a blued ( shiny) slide which is not very shiny and I'm thinking on getting that blued, if only to loose that pentagon

I must admit I do now like the original grips best on my 99, I got a Gen 2 and a Gen 3 as well. I think the Gen 2 is a likely candidate for nickel plating and will probably let the Gen 3 go.

This is my 99 on the link below: (I have put the original grips back on since the photo)

Lovely looking gun I bought one of these in 1999 from a gun shop in France when I was on holiday- much better than a stick of rock.

Lovely looking gun that I'm not surprised the OP is chuffed with it.
