Hammerli Rapid - 5 Shot CO2 Semi Auto Training Pistol - Sale

The Hammerli 'Rapid' - 5 shot CO2 semi auto training pistol

This model took over 5 years in the development stage and a number of working prototypes were produced before the final version was sold to the general public. Production was short 1966 – 1969. There appears to have been two factories producing these. One in Switzerland and one in Germany. The only difference that I can see is that the frame of the Swiss built pistol is much heavier than the Germany built pistol.

So what of the pistol and it’s purpose. It was developed to allow cheap home and range practice of rapid fire turning targets, the factory issued box and owners manual showing the coffin shaped targets used in rapid fire events of the day.

The pistol is a 5 shot semi automatic CO2 with match grade trigger and sights. It is built to firearms standards and contains no plastic or cheap alloy parts in it’s construction, other than the grips. The front sight can be moved along the sight rail. The pistol uses 8grm powerlets or can be used with a small bulk fill bottle that charges through a one way valve in the base of the pistol grip.

It has a 125 mm precision rifled barrel and shoots 4.5mm lead ball. Gamo ball works perfectly.
5 can be loaded into a machined slot along the rib and then a little button is pulled allowing them to load into the pistols mechanism.. The large knobs either side of the pistol are pushed forward to cock the action and will continue to re cock the pistol after each light touch of the trigger in true semi auto fashion. There are no safeties on this pistol. Velocity is around 310 fps and they will group inside 15 mm at 6m.

A very rare sight in the UK. The ‘Rapid’ is 1.5kgs of superb engineering quality and joy to use and own.

This one serial number 1520 was made in Germany and is in perfect working order. Few minor handling marks - but nothing on a 45 year old pistol. Pistol only - no box or manual.

£400 plus postage - UK only
