This is quite a rare rifle - I have three FWB150 and several 300S and 300SU but this is the ONLY 300 I have ever had. The rifle is is good condition for its age - I don't know how to date it - but it has been used well over the years and it is still going strong.
The rifle shot pellet on pellet at 10 meters and was lovely and smooth to cock with a superb light trigger.

We also have a couple of RedBob bell targets in the range and they were ringing just about every shot - not bad at 10 metres !

So the rifle is shooting very well and I will be sad to see it go!

Rifle number 95876 - anyone know what year this was made?

Thanks for the info - much appreciated .

Is there some sort of reference list that can be accessed by "Joe Public" where I can check to see when my various FWB rifles were made?

I have three Model 150 rifles ( two mint and thought to have never been shot) and I would really like to find out a little more about them and knowing when they were made would be a good start.

The different 300S and SU rifles I have had seem to have a big difference between series numbers and suggest these rifle had a long production life with lots of them being made over several years?

My guess is there were a lot less Model 150 rifles made and probably not many 300 types either

There's no official public list that I know of.

Did you see the link in my last post Bob? That was my attempt to collect together serial number data that I judged to be from reliable sources. There are enough FWB numbers to give you the year of production for mod.150 if not the month. HTH

Just a friendly nudge, but it's nice IMO when using these data lists to try and acknowledge those who did the research and compilation.

    Ah I see.

Good point Nick and well made - if you follow the above link you will see it leads you to the American Vintage Airguns site and on it the various contributors that helped to produce this extracted information have been duly credited.

May I also offer our thanks and appreciation to all those concerned who put in the hours producing this information for us all to enjoy and make good use of.

    Thanks for that Nick.

It remains a surprise to me that so many of the FWB 300 match rifles were produced and yet we seldom see many of them here in the UK.

Plenty of the all time classic 300S were rightfully sold in the UK as they are a superb spring powered recoilless match rifle and quite a few 300SU types are about as well as a few 150 models in various guises but I have personally seen less 300 models than any of the others !

Maybe I just look in the wrong places - or maybe the 300 was manufactured before target shooting with air rifles become popular in the UK or before FWB had a good UK importer/distributor ?..or both perhaps?

I think it likely that the collectors brought in most if not all of the 150 rifles as they became desirable later on but the 300 seems to have escaped most of their attentions but for me it is a very interesting rifle and I am already regretting selling my own example that shot absolutely beautifully

I am pleased you are happy with the 300 - I still have a nice 150 to shoot until that one goes too !

I like the older FWB match rifle models - they have real character.

Hi do you have anything like a FWB 601 for sale?.
Also, do you know if these are ambidextrous? I've seen a left handed for sale, but I'm right handed,
Can I swap the cheek piece around to suit my R/H shooting?
Thanks in advance for your response.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Sorry Mike,

I don't have an FWB 601 to sell - but I do have one and it is right handed.

I would imagine shooting a left handed one right handed would be a bit uncomfortable.

    Hi Mike,

I have taken a look at my 601 and I can only imagine that a left handed one would not be too comfortable for you to shoot right handed and just changing the cheek piece would not help that much as the main sculpturing difference on the stock is around the hand grip area and this would remain very awkward.

There are plenty of 600 series for sale if you look around - usually several on eGun too if you are happy to buy one from Germany.

It is also worth asking around the clubs and dealers. Once people know you are looking for one and the word goes around they can start to come out of the woodwork
