Eusta LP-210

Hi

Has anyone on here ever owned or shot one of these, or know of one for sale anywhere? I know that it doesn't look very powerful and some won't like the fact that it's made out of pressed steel, but I kind of fancy one, like the looks of it and the compact style.

Just spoke to a collector who has one. Concentric barrel similar to Hyscore and Jumbo, not very powerful.

Hi Rob,

I spent years looking for one of these and finally found one last year. They are rare in the UK as I don't think they had an official importer here. My pistol is all there and works but will need a service by way of new washers to get the best out of it. Still on my never ending to-do list.

Lovely looking 'pocket' sized compact pistol from the days when springers were generally a lot larger or did not resemble semi autos to the extent the LP 210 did. In that respect, it was years ahead of its time.

I agree with John - a nice looking compact pistol that is light and very pleasant to shoot. It is easy to cock and has a very reasonable trigger. It is a bit flimsy in some of its construction, but I like the screw adjuster at the breech which enables you to take up any slack in the breech sealing O-ring. Power-wise, mine delivers about 200 fps with .177 waisted pellets, which puts it somewhere between a top condition Tell 2 and Harrington Gat.

The pistol was only sold in Germany and (to a much lesser extent) the USA, so the chances of finding one over here are pretty small. I could never understand why it didn't become popular and more widely distributed.

I have a HW35e that's marked 'EUSTA' There's no mention of Weihrauch, HW or mellrichstadt-bay!!

That’s a very interesting observation and highlights the problem that you can sometimes get when trying to identify the manufacturer of a particular gun based on markings alone. The name EUSTA is in fact a trademark of the German gun distributor Hans Wrage & Co of Hamburg, and was used on rebranded guns provided by other manufacturers. The EUSTA air pistol was actually made by a small German company called Alpinawerk, and over the period 1968 -70 they were under exclusive contract to supply the pistol to Hans Wrage & Co. The Alpinawerk connection was a well kept secret and nowhere on the guns, boxes and advertising literature was there any reference to this company.
As Alpinawerk was not a true gun making company and this pistol was their only venture into guns, (they actually specialised in products such as typewriters and calculating machines), it is perhaps not surprising that the pistol wasn’t promoted much and failed to realise its true potential.

Here's what I found whemn I researched the Eusta name...

"Eusta" or "Eusta Scheider" - brand name of German gunmaker Kaschie-Wrage."


That was all I found apart from the OP's page with the Pistol

I sold a mint boxed one to a collector on here years ago, seem to remember he was a doctor of professor of something.

Seems to have been lost in the server move though

I think it went for £200 plus and that was years ago....
