    CLEARIDGE RM 3-9x32 AO

Just got a CLEARIDGE RM 3-9x32 AO yesterday
    what a scope

bought it off here what took me at first was the size of the box absolutely tiny
took the scope out of the box and size wise there is nothing in it comparing it to my
leupold 3-9x33 the scope is matt in colour unlike my leupy which is gloss The overall finish of this scope is very good better than any scope in its price range

going through the operation of the scope Both the power ring and adjustable objective ring are smooth to reposition and do not require as much pressure as my luppy to move the front ao of the clearidge move very easily with nice quick rotation there are covers on the windage and elevation knobs which once removed house finger adjustable knobs which I think is a positive to the coin elevation and windage on the luppy

The front AO (focus)on the clearidge is easier to use than that of the luppy, it is easily adjustable when using gloves however I prefer the luppy one as it does not go to the front of the scope, I like to put butler creeks on the front of my scopes and with the clearidge one the creek cover will rotate

the rear magnification selector ring on the clearidge is better than that of the luppy as it is easier to adjust and is superior to that on the luppy in size and markings the eye focus moves like a swiss watch and has a locking ring

On using the clearidge scope it is easier to focus than the Leupold due to the ease of the AO ( front focus ring )movement . The Clearidge has a mil dot which is not the full length one it runs a third of the length of the reticles and it is a true mil dot at 9x

the picture its self is very good from low power to full zoom, its very clear with no gold fishing and is on par with the leupold

when both scopes are set at 8x they are very much similar (using my eyes) you could make out blades of grass at vast distances and veins on flower petals the overall picture quality is better than scopes I have owned in the £200-300 range

at this 8x there was no fading at the edges of the scope and as I have said very comparable to the luppy the AO ring was very good and at all of the settings the scope was correct using my rangfinder on various trees and fences, the scope has a good field of view and eye relief of a couple of inches

this is a rare scope in the uk and I would not hesitate in saying if you can get a hold of one buy it.

If I had the choice of one of these and a leupold 3-9x33, I would say go for the clearidge you cannot loose and the spare cash will get you some fine mounts and pellets you will not be disappointed, it is one of them scopes that if you sell you will then miss it as you never realised how good it was and you will want to buy it back

it has a lifetime transferable guarantee and really is a bargain as a comparable scope with a mil dot reticle will cost twice as much
overall its a lightweight scope with a mil dot easy operating buttons and knobs with great clarity and picture and I cannot see a better scope at the price

pictures were taken with a point and shoot camera shaking at the back of the scopes, looking through the scopes the images are a lot better clearer and sharper taken to show reticles
