Can anyone tell me why the airsporter piston had the odd shaped cone head ?

The conical piston head allowed the MK1 and MK2 Airsporter to use a very short transfer port with no loss of strength to the cylinder/breach joint.

BSA may have also thought the conical entry to the transfer port would give a better flow from the cylinder to the back of the pellet ?

    All the best Mick
