Hi guys new to the forum
first posting asking for help in finding spare parts for my dad's old air rifle .
It won't cock reach's the safety catch on the action.
the firing lever looks badly worn ?
any idea's

It sounds like the sear is badly worn, which is a common problem with a rifle at least 60 years old.
You will probably have to get the sear re-tipped and re-profiled.
Make sure it is done properly by a competent gunsmith.
The hardening and profile is critical as the sear connects to the piston by a very fine indent.

Also a second mortgage, I think he must be the most expensive supplier on the planet.

can't agree on the parts price query,don't forget they're not selling on company stuff,everything will have to be manufactured for or by them,for things like a Service Mark 2 a quote of £120 for a full spring, piston ring and overhaul,washers etc,including strip down and total re-blue(Black actually)doesn't sound bad in this day and age,find a machine shop to make the parts locally and you'll see why.

John Knibbs carry some spares for the Service, but the last on line catalogue did not list a sear.
Chambers do not list a sear, either.
J.Knibbs on line catalogue is currently unavailable, as the site is under re-construction.
As I said in my original reply, try and find a decent machine shop to re-tip and re-profile your existing sear.
As John Knibbs is now the distributor for all non current BSA and WEBLEY spares, you don't have a lot of choice but to deal with him. Chambers have a good stock, but I suspect a lot of their spares are sourced from J.Knibbs.
I have bought spares from J.Knibbs over the years, and have often flinched at the prices, but think how much more expensive they would be if they were manufactured in the UK.

sorted the problem, it works now
will need to invest in the spring and piston kit as posted
tried it on the chrono was only 5 ft/lbs
sure it was more than that when i was a lad
anybody got an idea on value for a well used original mk2 version ?

you might not have too much joy with the chrono,they were apparently designed to use the dieselling effect,and tend to be smokey,(mine is),and thereby fool the chrono,I'd be interested to hear what anyone else has to say on that.I've read dozens of articles over the years,and power is quoted anywhere between 8 and 28ft/lbs,all I can say is my father shot one regularly on a farm in the 30's,and said it was a hell of a lot more powerful than the airsporter he bought me as a teenager.

The value very much depends on the exact condition of the rifle. How much, if any, blueing is left, what is the condition of the stock, is there any surface rust or damage, all these factors affect the price.
Is it a Service Mk.2 second or third pattern?
Is the barrel the same number as the gun ?
There are usually two numbers on the underside of the barrel, the one on the key should be the serial number, and the one behind the key is a barrel batch number. The Calibre is stamped on the left side of the barrel.
If the serial number is above 2000, it should be a third pattern which is the most common.
Prices for the Service have not risen much over the past few years, as more examples have appeared on the market, but a good used working rifle with one barrel should fetch in the region of £250, with a well [original] blued example fetching considerably more.
Boxed, and cased examples are in a different league, particularly if they have multiple barrels.

Sear was £18.50 from Knibbs in their PDF catalogue about 3yrs ago,probably still the same.

You are quite correct. I missed it as I was looking for 'Sear' & not 'Main Sear'. I forgot about the 'Interceptor'
I will find out the current price tomorrow.
