    Pistol from Czechoslavika

My wife has had this pistol knocking around for ages, I'm curious to find out more about it, it was left to her by her great uncle some years back.

It has some writing on the gun ZVP and slavia.

On the side there is a number 34940 followed by a circle with something inside it and what looks like the number 11

So then the big question is what is it and is it worth much?

    P.s its a .177

Apparently the ZVP stands for Vzeducho Pistole!!

That's all I can comment on realy! It looks a solidly built pistol, Can't offer a val;ue on it though (I'm rubbish with prices )

    ZVP pistol

This dates from the mid 1960s, and is normally known as the Slavia ZVP. They are a well made pistol, but unfortunately have never attracted much collector interest. I have one which I bought maybe 3 years ago for £30 if this helps with a value.

    Thanks for the info,

Didn't think it was worth much as I went a googleing after that info from John

Found one in America that was in way better condition that went for $50.

Still considering the age it's a cool item, might replace the rubber seal on the barrel and shoot some tin cans in the garden with it for fun.

Nice units, built like tanks and will outlast your offspring and theirs
That looks to be the second variant

    Guns list

Thanks for putting on the link to Czech guns. I still have my very first rifle, which was a ZV3. I was 11 at the time (1958), and was given the gun to shoot on a local farm by my dad, who used to help the farmer at weekends. Happy days shooting at cans and bottles at the farmer's rubbish tip, then going to help with the haymaking in the summer holidays.
