    12g light load

Is there a light load for a 12g shotgun? What I'm looking for is something to deal with rats in side buildings, i was going to get a .410 but I have no more room left in my cabinate.

I will be shooting a less than 20feet and do not want to damage the fabric of the building but still be able to kill the rat.

Any reply good or bad news will be welcome.
Too many air guns to list but to count them all I need to take my shoes & socks off as well

Sounds like an ideal airgun job tbh, much cheaper way of doing things.

I can't think of anything that wouldn't damage the building at that range (aside from perhaps .22 shot shells), but at least an airgun only has one pellet.

Get yourself a Gamo Viper express, Air shotgun!

Uses Gamo plastic shotshell #9 shells. I am sure there will be a way to reload the shells!

It's a smoothbore .22 and you can also get a .22 pellet adapter to use it as an air rifle!

Failing that! If your a machine shop wizard, make one out of an old springer!

my dad made up some light load 12g shells around 1/2 oz of shot or less
he used them on very close rabbits bolting he shot them from a old side by side short barrel
he used home made lead shot and ici powder paper case cork wads and roll turn over and they worked fine
don't know if they would be any good for what you wanted

9mm garden gun and 9 shot. Works well on rats up to about 8 - 10 yards.

You could get some 12g-410g adaptors for your 12g they wouldnt take up any space at all,ive some i dont want to sell as i use them all the time and just leave them in the slip they work fine ive used 2",2 3/4",and 3" shells through them no bother, youd probably have to pay £50 ish i would have thought for a pair but cheaper than a 410 and no more guns in your cablnet and you could always sell them on if you didnt get on with them, put a post in the wanted section somebody will have some.
