A small squirt of T-cut works for me (It does not contain any ammonia).
What is the best polish to add to tumbling media to really make your brass shine?

Autoglym car polish
You using the liquid or paste t cut? I've tried the paste stuff in a tube and I've got to say I've noticed no difference!!
Might see if I've any of the car polish around.
i use the liquid T-cut.
Last time I used t-cut back in the 80s it did contain ammonia but not sure about today's offerings

The very old one used to contain OLEYL BIS-(2-HYDROXYETHYL) METHYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE but the newer on has Oleyl bis(hydroxy ethyl)amine oxide (Brass friendly).

Rip up some old linen, pillow cases etc into 2 inch squares.
Put a dab of solvol autosol onto half a dozed and squish them up.
Put into tumbler and end up with shiny brass.
The squares will be filthy so chuck them away.
Your media will last for years doing this.

I use half a teaspoon of Jewellers Rouge with Walnut shell media, cheap for a small tub which will last years. Fantastic results.
I am probably committing some form of reloading heresy but I have stopped using polish in my tumbler, as my tumbler is located in the garage I will stick it on after tea and just leave it to run till the morning, no mess ,no bother and nice shiny brass.
If I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have been bottle feed
