of course everyone stocked up. Its amazing how much you can get through in a days shooting.
ps, we got ours in a big bag and divided it up ourselves. It didn't come already weighed and put in pots. Tim

Thanks for the info Tim. Yes, we had the option to purchase in bulk packaging but did not fancy dividing it up, bearing in mind that it would have to be done on the day of purchase as none of us have access to a licenced bulk store. I guess a bit softer than TS2 is not a great surprise, considering the price, but it is still a much cheaper option. Looking forward to trying it out.

See Tac, there are people out there who have used it.

Here's a link to comments about it on the MLAGB.

For the price it looks as if it worth buying and trying some loads.
Any idea who might stock it in the South East.

Interesting reading - looks like largely favourable reviews on there. It was the price which attracted us to it as well.

I know of no stockists - ours was bought from the importer and they do only 16 x 1kg boxes, or bulk. The importer might be willing to tell you if they know of any retailers selling under the Vesuvit brand.

I suspect that it might be the same as the own brand products sold by Kranks and Fultons, and the generic fff from Peter Starley, since these seem to have appeared at about the same time and are priced about right for their mark up. Fultons were vague when I asked them what actual powder theirs was. I would expect that the importer would decline to comment regarding retailers who re-brand it.

Would it be possible, that following this thread , we could compile a list of suppliers of B/P.their location and what make of B/P they sell.
I use Fultons for FO triangle and Pantiles Vintage Guns ,Tunbridge Wells for Swiss no2.
There must be other stockists in the South East but so far haven't located them.

I think thats a great idea, it will save the confusion around who supplies BP and could save some cash on going to get it somewhere closer...

Does John Forsey at welling stock BP?

I asked at Wilson & Wilson in Ramsgate but to my surprise they dont stock BP...

Such a list would need to be a sticky.

Here is a dealer local to Huntingdon -

    Fenland Rural Sports

Heny Krank's per pound - fine and medium - £17.55.

Usually have coarse, too, but Adrian pre-empts most of it to shoot from his cannon - not sure if it's at boats, or to get them started.

    Discount for local club members.

I have now had a couple of outings with Vesuvit LC in my ROA so I thought that I would share my experiences so far.

Initial impression was that it is very similar to TS2 for speed, so on my second outing I tried a direct comparison.

I don't have access to a chronograph at my BP shoot, so this is necessarily subjective, but shooting alternating V LC and TS2 loads of the same charge weight, I have the distinct impression that V LC is a little faster.

Some experimentation with loads and I find that somewhere around 17.3 gn seems to work for me. This compares with 18 gn of TS2 for similar results. I know that 17.3 seems strangely precise, but I found high groups with 17.0 and low groups with 17.5 so I split the difference to arrive at 17.3! This would further support my suggestion that V LC is a little faster than TS2. I am not entirely sure that 17.3 is the best and only a lot more experimentation will tell, but it's a start.

One surprising thing I found from both outings (surprising to me anyway) was that it seems to leave less and softer residue than TS2. I found cleaning up to be noticeably easier, particularly on the cylinder face and inside the top strap. Have not previously noticed any real differences between other powders in this respect, and I can't see what could be different about this powder to produce less residue, but anything that makes cleaning up easier is welcome.

At the price, this stuff is excellent value.

I'll have to try it in my Uberti Remington next, but I expect to get similar results.
