Anyone sold air rifles in their local paper..?

I was just wondering if there was any problem with advertising air rifles (non FAC) for sale in a local paper.
Can they refuse to print the advert?
Has anyone sold a rifle in this way or is it generally not looked upon as a good idea?

I personally prefer to advertise rifles etc where I know or at least hope the readership is likely to have an interest, and avoid the risk of dealing with scrotes.

My local evening paper "The Shropshire Star" carries gun ads all the time, see here and scroll down to "Guns and Dogs".

If they choose to, yes they can. It's their prerogative to do business with whomever they want, and gun-owners in Britain do not enjoy the same protection against prejudice as queers, "ethnics", or various other seemingly more worthy minority groups.
