    Grease in a springer?

When a springer has synthetic bearings on the piston or compression tube, how much molygrease should be put on the inside wall of the gun's action:

    1. None at all because there is enough on the bearings
    2. A very small amount - just enough to protect against rust in the event of condensation
    3. A more substantial coating to ensure increased smoothness of the movement of the piston/compression chamber

    Thank you in anticipation.

I'd say a very small amount for the reasons you mention.

Plus it'll aid general smooth operation whilst those surfaces are all bedding in. Even beyond any running in, I'd still prefer there to be a little grease (moly or Ultimox) in there and not run TOTALLY dry. But that's just me and some may disagree.

On sliding cylinder guns, I would also use a slightly larger amount no the inner walls of the main tube.
