cool padded elbow top for under shooting jacket

Hi

I must be going soft in my age but my shooting jacket is distinctly rougher on the elbows than I remember! I'm a prone shooter so its one of those canvas ones and its getting to the point where my elbows are red raw and actually hurt!!

Any recommendations on tops with elbow padding I can wear underneath? Its to darn hot to be wearing my fleece (as that's the only thing that seems thick enough), I know you can buy shooting under clothing but as a female who is forever claiming to be on a diet my weight fluctuates to much to justify spending loads.
