    hornet owners read

i have a BSA hornet rifle length single shot and i have found that the cocking knob is scraping along the cylinder and causing it to go silver....is this the ame with all hornets?could this possible be dangerous over time and cause a weak point on the tank?

    thanks for any help

I think you'll be into several decades of work to weaken the reservoir. Mine had around 15,000 pellets through it and yes the blueing had worn under the knob but it felt nice and smooth to the touch with no sign of metal wearing away.

I just put a piece of electricians tape under the knob...(there's a joke in therre smoewhere, but I'll let someone else have it)
