    ACVOKE Air Pistol

Loft clearing reveals many surprises if not done for many, many years!!

In a box of my late father's memories I came across an ACVOKE Air Pistol. Very tired, but it cocks and fires. The only problem is that having cocked it the mechanism does not fully seal the breach.

Does anyone have any drawings / diagrams / ideas please on how I can resolve this?

    Many thanks

    Bob

    move to collectibles

I think you would get a more positive response if you posted this in the collectable airguns section.

Could be the same problem mine had, hooked lever which pulls the breech shut was broken, see here:

It pivots on the grip screw so removing screw will allow you to get the lever out for inspection, I think the only other thing it could be is the small roller that the lever pulls on could be at fault.

Drawing of mechanism can be seen half way down page on right here: http://cinedux.com/acvoke-airguns.php

Many thanks magigesperanto. Absolutely brilliant response. Will strip gun and see if it is the same problem. If it is the hooked lever then how did you resolve it please? Welding, or had a new one made perhaps?

I placed a wanted ad in the collectors section on here and a kindly member responded, he had a few spare parts which I bought including a new lever, (he doesn’t have any more Acvoke parts).

Mine was not a difficult repair for a skilled TIG man.

I tried to get it done at a local fabrication company but:

    (a) The chap would not give me a price other than "it wont be much".

    (b) After 10 days when I called back it hadn’t been done, and I was afraid they would lose it.

Another plan I considered was to make a new top bit for the lever from gauge-plate, then cut the old one half way between pivot hole and hook, then get someone to MIG or TIG the new piece on.

    Hi Bobba.

I know its been some time since you had the problem but I was wondering how you got on, as I have the same problem with a gun I've just bought. Its marked as 'locking piece' on the only diagram of this gun I have been able to find (http://cinedux.com/acvoke-airguns.php).

In my pistol the 'locking peice' is missing completely, and some bits of tape on the outside (where it was presumably attached at one time) are the only trace of it I still have! Did you find an original bit somewhere, have something made up, or give up?

I don't understand this at all, the "Locking piece" in hidden inside when the action is closed.

Do you mean the backstrap lever is missing?

Or do you mean the backstrap lever AND the locking piece are BOTH missing?

Hi Magicesperanto - thanks for getting back to me.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm using the terminology in this doc - http://cinedux.com/acvoke-airguns.php - as I don't have anything else to refer to. The piece I am missing is the longish internal part (B) with a hook at the top end and which is apparently mounted on the handle screws. I'm assuming that the one in my gun had been removed pending repair, but was lost at some time.

By the way, if you still have the broken part I would be interested in buying it from you, as I'm sure that repairing it would be easier than trying to build something from scratch.
