Hair curlers I know about, though there isn't much room in the LGU to use more than two cut pieces. What about dampening material. Felt, foam or something else?
How about a washer in the middle? Haven't measured the tube yet. Does anyone know the dimensions?

m6 x 20 washers, some curlers and some felt from a craft store.
Thanks.

What do the 6 and 20 in M6 stand for, Tony? I assume it's 20mm outer diameter, 6mm inner diameter. Isn't there a danger of clipping with such a small hole?
I've found them on the web with an internal diameter of 6.5mm. Would that be OK or do I need a slightly bigger hole.
They only sell them in hundreds on the web. Any shops like Screwfix, B&Q etc. likely to have them?
I assume you divide the silencer into three compartments, using two washers.
