    Weirhauch hw100 fsb noisy?

I'm going to shop today to buy a Wheirhauch hW 100 carbine so would appreciate some quick info if possible, I'm deciding between the folly shrouded barrel and the standard with Moderator. I prefer the look and length of fsb but .....

Is there much difference in the volume.

I don't want to use a silencer with the fsb as it will defeat the object of getting a shorter gun.

Is the volume between the two guns noticeable or if I want quietness should I just opt for standard hw100k with supplied moderator.

I just need opinions on sound please thankyou.

    Hi

I have the hw100kt in .22 I have to say what a rifle it is.u don't get much more accurate than a kt.I'm using AA field 4.52 & it's pellet on pellet.i don't think you'll get much quieter than a kt chap with a standard weirhauch silencer on..I've shot pigeons side by side with kt it's that quiet they didn't fly off...only difference I would say between a kt and the long version is shot count..u only have to hear the down range performance to know how quiet it is..

In a nutshell, yes, the FSB is very noisy and it still needs a silencer stuck on the end, making it full length rather than a handy carbine.

I had one, and ended up buying a standard carbine barrel for it. The FSB is pointless! I had heard it was dreamt up for the US market where having a silencer is an issue?

Don't bother with the FSB, go standard carbine!

I have a full length FSB and a standard K model. The carbine with mod is a bit quieter, but it is marginal and not enough to worry about, they are both the same length and the FSB gets almost twice as many shots per charge.

    Get a full length FSB!

Fair point, I was referring to the FSB carbine, which is pointless!

    Cool

I also have the ks, lovely rifle to shoot, 45-50 full power shots before topping up, bit of a pain if you're plinging in the garden, but for hunting, it more than enough.
As for sound, it's whisper quiet.
Talk about leaving it to the last minute....let us know how you got on.

    Happy shooting.

Ordered a carbine thumbhole and they say it will be 10 days woo hoo! Can't wait!

They also had a 'as new' bsa ultra which I bought for the Mrs so she don't try and use my hw100, it has a nice hawke scope and big silencer which is soooooo quiet. It was a bargain too.

I need to move on my tx200 mk3 now if anyone is interested????

You'll regret it if you sell the TX, a good springer keeps your shooting technique up to spec.

And how long have you had THAT you muppet?????

Don't sell the TX, soft lad, you need a good springer, as per above (a) to sharpen/maintain technique and (b) for when you run out of air.

Have you got yourself any charging gear yet, then?
