Comparing the two there are many visible differences.
Stock,sights,safety,ball latch.
But I'm not an expert on oily bits.
So, what price a new 34?
I recently bought one of these for a friend and was very surprised by how well it shot, the overall finish of the rifle is very tidy with what i believe are hand cut chequering panels on the pistol grip and forend. The firing cycle is very tame for a full power .177 with low recoil and no spring twang whatsoever, the trigger breaks fairly cleanly too. It came with a basic 4x32 scope and mounts which hasn't been fitted as yet but the opens are good and have fibre optic inserts, i have already done some good groups of around a 5p piece size but at only 10 yards at the moment, in fact the only thing i dont like is the long reach from pistol grip to trigger ala weihrauch. The hatsan 60s i had was a very good budget rifle but i believe the remington 700 to be a step up from that...
www.sportsmk.co.uk/ Diana importer and Remington and smk
Did not know SMK did Diana.
Now 34 or 28?
I believe SMK are a subsidiary of Remington or the two companies are connected in some way
Dianas are still expensive in the UK.

I wish I was in the land of cotton.
Two gun test in Airgun Shooter this month. Express vs Diana 280 Classic.
The Express compared very well. Looking at the images, to me the breech area/detent looks very Diana-esque.
Finish and refinement apparently very, very good. Accurate, too and with a good trigger.
The only thing that would worry me, in terms of manufacturing / engineering tolerance related issue (and I can't remember the exact term used) was an off-centre breech face??
THE BOINGER BASH AT QUIGLEY HOLLOW. MAKING GREAT MEMORIES SINCE 15th JUNE, 2013.
NEXT EVENT :- May 4/5, 2024.........BOING!!
The Remington Express is not the same rifle as the SMK XS20. The XS20 is a copy of the HW95, the Express is based on some of the Weihrauch designs but is not a copy of any Weihrauchs. They are a very accurate rifle that can out shoot guns that are twice the price.Take a look at the ARC Remington AR1 on the Airgun Shooter on line magazine, this rifle was tested by a well known shooter that was well known in field target shooting . He said it was one of the most accurate spring rifle he had fired.
