    Remington Express

Mine has been lubed and polished but with that proviso it seems to be a good looking and performing cheap air rifle.
My friend who did the sorting says the internals are pretty good.

I was pleased with its open sights performance and today I added a 3-9 40.
Quick to zero and really accurate up to 70 yards.
At that range I was holding over too much initially which I think is an indicator of how good this rifle is.

The only thing that detracts is the very smelly rubber they use for the butt pad!

The 70 yards target is a bell the size of a teacup.
At 40 yards empty 12g co2 canisters on a string.
25 yard zero target has an 8mm x5mm cloverleaf after a 10 shot zero.
    All rested.
Standing shots bean tins 50 yards.
    .177 Air Arms Field 4.52
    £160 rifle.

Pretty good going for such an inexpensive rifle.

All the reviews say it's great value for money.

    I think so.
    I'm not a great shot.

Bear in mind it was worked on from new so it's not straight out of the box.
But my friend who does this said not a lot involved.
For those of you who can fiddle.
    Not me tho!

    Believe so Andrew.
Looks like Remingtons 700 which attracted me and the stock is much nicer than photos show.

Is it a case of, you can't shoot straight until you can smell your butt ?

I don't think it was designed as an aid to shooting.
It does help me find the gun without opening the bag tho.
I trust it will go in time.

I had the opportunity to shoot one of these recently. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely it shot. The feel of the rifle felt very solid and the stock, including the chequering, was very nice. Re-settable safety (very similar to a modded HW) and I was offered the new package from Lyn Lewington for well under the MRP. He was also prepared to organise carbining as well. If I didn't already have too many.177's in my cupboard, I'd have walked out with one

Correction, SMK are only wholesale suppliers, the only thing they 'make' is a profit.

    Fabio is right I think.
Designed by Remington made in China, imported and distributed by SMK is my guess.
Better keep quiet or the price will go up.

I don't think their prices will go up because as you know there are so many people who have a phobia about Chinese guns and will never buy one. (even though their homes are full of other 'Chinese made junk', strange that).

According to the UK Chinese airgun forum the Remington is basically the SMK XS20 with a few cosmetic variations.
