I reload for two .223 One is a Tikka with a custom barrel using 50gr V Max loaded with 25.1gr of N133 the other an RWS factory using 50 gr Nosler BT with 25.3gr of N133 also.
Teaching probably to the converted but best to refer to the Vhitavuori web site and consider doing the OCW method in say .2gr increments.
Thanks for the info its all appreciated,i have the reloading manuals ect been loading my own 44 mag for a couple of years. its good to know what people are using when its a new cal for me.
what kind of ranges are you using the loads at ?
and what kind of groups are you getting.
Oh and what is the custom barrel ?

Pistol & Rifle Shooting in the Highlands with Strathpeffer Rifle & Pistol Club. <StrathRPC at yahoo.com> or google it.
No longer Pumpin Oil but still Passin Gas!
Never chrono'd it! I find it all to easy to get bent out of shape about how fast my load is, so I took the proactive step of taking the battery out of my F1, putting it in it's drawer, working up a load for accuracy using the aforementioned OCW method and then just shooting.
I am moving on to a new tub of 133 on the next few weeks I should imagine, I could chrono it then if you like. Whenever I change propellant batch I always drop .5(ish) of a grain and work up again just in case anything changes.

Sorry I have not got back to you before.
The photo below was my final selection for the custom barrel - it was developed as a foxing tool and once the owner had worked out a drop chart and experimented with doping the wind he was comfortably taking foxes out to 250 yds at night.
The barrel was a Border barrel with a 10 twist.
A big thank you to (dicehorn)
Top fella took time out to give me very useful info
