32-40 brass
I got them some time ago, and I got them from Midway but I had them sent to my brothers office in Alabama. I did look at Midway and some other sites and all seem to be out of stock. The 30 30 work ok I took the die apart and sized them with out the centre in and then again with it in as it seemed to much to do it all at once (I messed up some cases)

Resizing 30-30 brass
After using the 32-40 die, best to use a Lyman M die in 30 short which will give you a perfectly sized neck. The 32-40 is a strange cartridge all round .
Following from my last post, some of my Winchester 32-40 brass split down the sides of the case after two reloads, light reloads! The 30-30 resized cases will stretch after use , thus lessening the case length difference.... biggest problem I had was finding a decent bullet...I now use a Lyman 165gn bullet which performs well. Some of the bullets sold as 32-40 are actually made for the old "Stutzen" 32-40 target rifles and will not stabilise in a modern 1-16 twist barrel.

Phoned them yesterday, seems they are out of stock as well (despite the website saying they are in stock). Also won't ship to UK so will have to find some when I'm next in the US. Going to try 30-30 as Chris suggests because they are available here..

32-40 Brass
Assuming my posts ever see daylight...stick to the reformed 30-30 brass. It will be the bullet that is more important...

32-40 brass
My expensive Winchester 32-40 brass is not good....some cases have split badly after a few reloads...my 30-30 resized cases are fine. You really need the 32 Lyman "M" die to open up the neck after resizing with the 32-40 die. The "M" die is also best for reloading cast. The resized 30-30 cases are 1mm shorter than the 32-40 brass. Seat the bullet accordingly. You can also resize 32 Win Special cases, if you can get any.
Pass the well lubed 30-30 cases through the 32-40 die, gently, a couple of times...a few may split at the neck...but they are much cheaper than the 32-40 Win!

Thanks amc
Excellent advice!. I've finally found some 30-30 brass from Reloading Solutions (the last three packets of 30-30 cases in the UK I strongly feel having been so unsuccessful trying to track it down!) and re sized them all to 32-40 through a lee die. Will seek out the Lyman ones you mentioned as I've a horrible feeling the poor Lee sizing and expanding die has literally "die'd" once it got to the 150th case! (despite plenty of lube)

32-40 Brass
The Lyman "M" die in .32 will expand the 30-30 neck correctly....if you could get 32 Win Special cases, the neck is already the correct size. My Win 32-40 brass also has a strange habit of expanding more on one side of the neck than the other...thus leaving you with a sloping neck! Levelled off with a Lee neck trimmer, but very odd. Def not worth the money.

How odd?! will steer clear of the .32-40 brass then!
