Apparently, my wife was watching this nature programme. My highly strung 9 year old walked into the kitchen just as an Arctic fox was attacking / devouring a Barnacle goose chic...which he hated....he's been really upset ever since his chicken died in the Summer! He turned the TV off and the Mrs went ballistic at him.

I saw a little of this programme at the start, whilst we were having tea....Anyone else catch any of it? Blimey! These two day old Barnacle goose goslings had to launch themselves off the 400 feet high cliffs to get to ground level, bouncing off rocks and tumbling about as they went down. Scary stuff. I think they said that three out of the five chics survived the fall. Apparently, the nests have to be that high to avoid predation, but then the grass that they eat is all at ground level, so down they go........




P.S.....As you may have gathered, never a quiet moment at the madhouse.....Oh how I yearn for that little field in Quigley Hollow, in exemplary company and with boinger in hand!!!!
