    Lighning XL... Maximum power?

    Hi guys!
I recently bought a Lightning XL (imported to Sweden)
and the data told that it would produce somthing like 240 mps in full power...
HaveŽnt tried it yet in a chronometer, but my ear (musician) tells me that the power is round 210-220 mps right now...?
I love the gun (Love Brittish guns) but do you guys have some advice that might give it some more punch?
    thanks in advance
    friendly regards

Hi Ricard. Due to our power limits, people don't like to talk about how to raise the power of rifles too much, this being a public board and all that. Either someone will send you a private message, or you could try contacting a specialist tuning company like Venom, or Maccari.

How much do you expect Richard? It's not a huge cylinder/stroke/capacity.
Mine runs very sweet at 11.2 ft lb in .22, straight from the factory, using AA fiels 5.51, coming up to pellet number 6000 now. What more could you ask? If you want sheer power - (in a springer), get a bigger gun maybe a HW80 or similar.

Oh, I donŽt complain really... The accuracy is more than I could ask for, but I saw that the XL could produce round 240 mps, so I`d like to try to maximize it ...
HW 80 is a nice gun, but I preffer English guns....

Get a Pro elite if you want powerful British springer, or even more powerful the Eliminator

I know that they are very powerful guns, and I will eventually buy somthing like that, but I fell in love with the little XL straight away when i opened the box, so IŽd like to make the best possible of that gun..

Max power IIRC is around 14 ft/lb. Although why anyone would want to put a lightning up to that kind of power eludes me. It's already enough of a handful without making it that difficult! If you really want to go higher, there are plenty of springers that are better suited. The Eliminator, HW80 or Tomohawk, if you can get one.
Old age is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I already have a more powerful springer ( Supersport custom .25)
But i still like to try, and find out how much I can squeeze out of the XL..
If it behaves weird, IŽll just reduce the power down again..
