What is with all the knackered springs, has the pistol had lots of use?

Sorry I can not provide the dimensions of the spring guide in the Brummie Tempest (Brumpest) as I have no intention to dismantle it (it's running as smooth as silk).

The observation of the powerful spring in the Turkish Tempest (Turpest) has raised an interesting point. Chambers list the same part number for the main spring in both the early and later Tempest.

So anyone wanting a one-for-one replacement for the strong spring in the Turpest (some folk want the high power) may be disappointed? On the upside I should find a buyer for the spring that I plan to remove from my Turpest
