    Meteor Cocking Linkage Pin

    Hi All

Putting together a meteor with a MK5 barrel (TH serial number)

I have a question regarding the cocking linkage pin. Do these need to be pressed into place?

The hole in the barrel and linkage measure 4.5mm but the original pin is 5mm.

Just to be on the safe side I ordered a new pin from John Knibbs and this is 5mm as well.

Can anyone confirm this is correct?

    Cheers

    Dave

A 0.5mm difference is far more than a press fit would use. To give you an idea, 0.5mm = 20 thou, whereas an interference fit is 1 thou.

    I don't think I will force it.

The pic on the John Knibbs site shows a roll pin. The supplied part is solid

    This is odd.

It sounds as though you've identified the problem - I wish you luck with getting it sorted!

Thanks for the input. John Knibbs are sending a replacement as there was a possible error.
