    Air Arms S200

Air Arms 200 in .22. Any good.?? My 11 year old grandson is showing interest in shooting and has been down the range
with me a few times shooting an old 2240 pistol and a BSA Supersport in .25 but if its something he's wanting to do i don't
mind buying something suitable for him. The s200 looks to be great value. Tim

    S200

What they say. I have found that the .177 sell a lot better than the .22.

I'm getting my son a S200 single shot for Christmas as it seems an excellent choice for a young beginner. I started this thread http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....e-please-gents a few days ago in which I was asking about the S200 for my 8 yr old, It is worth a read as the input from the forum is very helpful.

Most accurate rifle I own, mines in .22 and capable of one ragged hole at 50 yards with Falcon Accuracy + pellets.
Hits a lot harder than .177 at longer ranges too IMHO.
I get 40 shots all with single figure consistency from a 170 bar fill which I can recharge in less than a minute with a hand pump - what's not to love about that?

Sorry mate, this ones going nowhere. Every time I've sold one of these little beauties in the past I have regretted it. I was very lucky to find a mint mk2 for sale so snapped it up, a keeper for sure

Same as everyones comments above brilliant rifles !. Recently bought a .177 mk3 which I use for hunting and it's great.very accurate, solidily built and the 10 shot magazine works really well.ive owned or shot a fair few different pcps in the past and the s200 is one of my favourite.there are plenty of custom aftermarket bits you can fit as well to personalise it😀 A few of my mates own the earlier mk 1 and 2s with the 2 piece stock and they would sell them last out of their rifle collections so that says something

Depending on his stature, he might benefit from having the stock shortened.

Here's a before-and-after picture of a stock I did a while back for a disabled youngster aged 12. Shortened, rising cheek piece, thumb groove, and a small modification behind the trigger, which is not easy to spot in this photo but meant the lad's trigger finger didn't bear on the woodwork.

Does anyone know if the Mk.3 stock fits the Mk.2 without modification?

In theory, yes, as the actions are essentially the same. However it can be a bit tricky to persuade a mark 2 action into a mark 3 stock. I have done several and I guess about half just slide in and the other half are tykes. You just have one less freedom of movement with a one piece stock. It's usually when you put the action back at an angle into the recess where the main block sits, and then there isn't clearance to lower it to the right line. A shave off the woodwork with a very sharp 6mm chisel does the trick.
