    Original Model 50M valuation

    Anyone have any idea of the value of this rifle I have had it over 30 years and seen pics of the model on the web but never one for sale.

    Great looking rifle.

    I've never noticed that type of right hand thumb area chequering before (striations would be a better word) - plus what appears to be the same on the grip face ?

    Yep..this is normal on these, I had an identical Diana stamped gun a while back, but have sold it,;

    REAL nice Ed.

    That must have been a very rewarding restoration project & I specifically dont mean financially !

    Old Red Feather (who runs the DWC forum now) would love to see those pics and I'll put-up a link (with your permission) later.

    Their site is "under maintainence" at the moment so it would be much later tonight (hows about if I dont hear to the contrary just go ahead and put a link up ?).

    Very nice example.

    Should any prospective purchaser want the original Original Spezialschlüsse with which to adjust the sights I can supply one at a very reasonable cost. cheeky I know.

    Very typical of Diana target guns of the period, an ususual combination of hand-cut checkering and machine-cut lines.

    That is a spectacular example of the 50M; the best version of the venerable model 50 ever made. It is the first version of the gun; if you look closely you can see that the distinctive round cheekpiece is actually made of two pieces of wood.

    The very first version also had the solid steel cocking lever with the round release button very much like the British Diana Model 55.
    Pics of instruction pamphlet which come with rifle added on photostream for anyone interested.
