    Hi
Could you be more precise about issues you have with the replacement from Chambers?

Sorry Suggs, your request is unclear (to me). Could you be more specific about your problem? Some pics?
The seal should be the the same as a 25mm HW77.
    Unless I am missing something?

    Hi chaps,

I've never owned a 70, a situation which I will have to address one day.

Neither have I ever worked on one.

Now, and I might be MILES off the mark here, so do apologise in advance, but the OP states that it's a Mark 1....... I'm just wondering if these earlier examples used a leather piston seal and if that's the reason why the replacement seal is nothing like the original?

As above, please excuse my ignorance if incorrect....just a wild guess???

I doubt if it would be Bruno

    The MK1 HW70 was introduced in the early 1970s, the 25mm HW77 seal wasn't produced until 1983.

So as you say the 77 seal will fit the later ones but not the pre 1983 guns.

Edit: after a quick search here's the earlier seal arrangement :-

An adaptor and a Diana/Original 5G seal may be the way to go if the proper seal can't be found.

    All the best Mick

I stand corrected, thanks T20. I missed out that it is a Mk1 model. So may be it is a leather seal?

    Hw70 mk1 piston seal

Hi, I know this discussion has long expired, but did you find a seal for your piston, or did you have to buy a new piston that takes the parachute seal. I am in exactly the same predicament but wanted to keep my 1976 hw70 as original as possible.
