    Help on shotgun cartridge components

Bit of an odd one here but please stick with me!
I work as a forensic investigator specialising in fire and have a colleague who specializes in firearms and teaches forensic science to degree level.
He has research students looking into shotgun lead shot and where it is now made or where it is imported from.
He is also interested in wad styles (and their different uses e.g. the tall shot cups for steel etc.), lead hardness and so on.
The forensic school at the university is trying to put together a database of shotgun cartridge components, with an emphasis on wad style and pellet weights and dimensions and issue of lead composition and antimony, contact & other trace metals.
I told him I knew a couple of forums where there were some exceptionally knowledgeable people who would not only know the information he was after but would be able to point him to wholesalers, providers, manufacturers and articles and so on.
Please don’t let me down; I know there are some extreme anoraks on this site who could probably provide information he didn’t even know existed!
PM or reply in this thread, I’m happy to email or call to discuss on his behalf.
    Thanks in advance

    SIARM in Italy.

Most shotgun cases and wads are made in Italy.
Even stuff on US sites are rebranded Italian produced.
