    Brasso in tumbler medium.

    Hiya, Question number 3,874...

I've been reading that some guys use Brasso in the tumbler medium..( I use crushed walnut)....I'd like to try it, so, how much would I put into said medium ?...

Sorry to be so vague, but I'm very new at this great side of shooting...

    Cheers guys..

Mate try using jewlers rouge instead. Far better in my opinion and it doesn't contain ammonia

I just use a splash of white spirit in the crushed walnut shells - it works for me.

I did wonder about that, with it being more abrasive, that's why I wanted to know how much to put in...

Brass is an alloy of zinc and copper , Ammonia and some acid's leach the zinc out the alloy leaving a more copper rich alloy with less strength , If you leave some brass cases over night in an acid rich solution you will end up with copper coloured cases as the zinc in the surface of the alloy has gone.
