Fas 6004

Anyone out there have the 6004? Are they good value new or used?

Although the 6004 may look like the 604, I was not too impressed to read of the snag mentioned in post #6 below:

..straight answer - NO .

If they fix the faults then they could become a worthy replacement for the 604 - but as they are right now they are a liability that is best avoided.

I had a FAS6004 for two days after waiting months for them to arrive. Initially I was pleased with the grouping which were slightly low at 10m so I thought I would adjust the sights - as you do . Thats when the trouble started. I didn't use ANY force, just finger pressure and the back sight adjuster stripped. On closer examination it became obvious that this would happen. A 2mm threaded steel rod into alloy. There was no way of increasing the size of the adjuster as the detent for the elevation screw was right next to the threaded (read stripped) hole.
I took it back to the retailer who exchanged it for a s/h FWB100

The holes on either side are for the screws which retain the sight and the spring that put it under pressure.

I have just read on another forum that mine could possibly have been a grey import.

Like I stated earlier - that was on what was probably a grey import pistol It may be worth while having a look at a genuine import to see what, it any, difference there is.
