    Enamel paint durability

I'm starting work on my battered LP53 in earnest. I've given it a blow over with some spray matt black enamel paint and it looks pretty good. Has anyone got any experience of whether this will work in the long run, or will it all just fall off? I prepped the surface with wire wool first.

I thort u was doing it with crackle paint? I don't think you can paint over spray enamel (soft as fouk), so you might have to fetch it all back orf.

The crackle finish was introduced quite a bit after this was made (1956) so I'm trying to keep it kinda right looking.

How much do you want for that HW35 rear sight?

OIC, etch primer followed by satin black car paint? Baked in a warm oven? But when I did that with some motorbike parts, for some reason my pies tasted wierd for weeks afterwards...

Oh yes, I will look out my bag 'o sights. No charge. Just make me a titanium target pistol on yer new lathe.
