Not so.
Up to 1500 fps you'll get away without a check BUT only with a boolit that fits the rifle and lubed properly and not TOO HARD.
A check WILL. however, improve your accuracy below 1500 fps.

saklot - I'm real careful about double loads, the Hornet cases hold 5.5gr. Red Dot, filled up, so it is possible to double load the lighter loads. With the 7.5gr. Lilgun I thought there might have been just the slightest flattening of the primer so I'll try a couple more and maybe reduce that a little.

With V-Max bullets the Hornet handles 13gr. Lilgun (and they are pretty full) without any signs of over pressure.

bear - the bullets come with gas checks fitted.

double loads.....you think thats bad then try and load a martini henry case with 15 gns of trailboss when the case can swallow 120gns of bp lol
i use bp now but that trailboss load was quite accurate and mild recoil

I got out today with a few different loads. The chrono was playing up because of the low, very bright sun so no real readings.

The 2.2 gr. Red Dot was doing about 1,600fps and the 6.5gr. Lilgun about 2,200fps - approx.

A few targets at 50 yards, rings about 1" diam.
