One point not mentioned so far - but very much agreed to be the case at our club (from all those that shoot match pistol) is that the CO2 match pistols feel much more "forgiving" to shoot and remain every bit as accurate as any PCP match pistol.

This inspires confidence and good CO2 match pistols such as the Feinwerkbau Model 2, C10 and C20 as well as those from Walther such as the CP2 and CP3 etc and Steyr LP1 (and others) add high quality engineering choices to the popular East European types mentioned already that usually work from small CO2 capsules.

The German made CO2 pistols bulk-fill just like a PCP pistol and once you have acquired a CO2 cylinder the problem of "CO2 not being as readily available" does not exist as everyone makes sure they fill their cylinders before they go shooting ( don't they? ).

CO2 also seem's to give a lot more shots per fill that air in a PCP pistol with the German type pistols mentioned above and temperature changes can be ignored from a practical point of view if living and shooting in the UK as we don't get enough variation to make any difference - especially when shooting indoors at typical target shooting clubs.

Most of the CO2 match pistols come with two cylinders ( just like most PCP match pistols) and if the cylinders are filled before you go shooting there is no need to worry about running-out of CO2 as you are unlikely to be able to use the gas from one cylinder during a full evenings shooting - never mind emptying them both!

I hope this helps you to widen your search pattern within a limited budget as the CO2 match pistols are a worthy alternative to any PCP match pistol at a much more affordable price !
