    Weird Meteor trigger

Seem to have had a run of basket case Meteors recently. As we know very simple straight forward rifle to sort and repair. The latest one is giving me a headache as the trigger mechanism is completely different to the others. Has a different sear arrangement which I have installed and it is working OK. Does anyone know how this trigger assembles correctly with the spring supplied ? I have tried all the options I can see with no success.

    Thanks, Baz

Hi Baz. I think I probably mentioned this in the "Idiots guide" sticky. HERE---halfway down the page on post 128 http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....s-(pt-1)/page5 What you have is the trigger from a MK1 and MK2 Meteor.

Pics on Nibbs of bits --here is the spring so yours looks ok. http://www.airgunspares.com/store/pr...t-No.-16-1040/

I like these triggers but they become unsafe when the trip plate plays up, either not cocking or cocking and not firing.
Here is the good news The pin holes are in the same place as the later Meteors, so you can fit a later Mk3/4 or 5 trigger set up if you have one knocking about? If not, the bits for the later ones do crop up on Egay.

Thanks for that ggggr, the layout now makes more sense. If I assemble the trigger on its own and hold it forward, the rifle cocks and I can fire it. Now will assemble so that the spring holds a forward pressure on the trigger. It is a strong little spring. As you say, prefer the simple later design.
