I am very saddened to hear this. Mike responded to a wanted add I placed on here for a Park rifle some years ago. Upon calling Mike to discuss delivery of the rifle he very kindly sold to me, we had a lengthy conversation about air rifles and in particular about the rifles of John Whiscombe and harmonic dampening and the hammer effect. At that time I did not realise who he was and the input he had put into the development of harmonic adjusters on rifles-he just came across as another member of "our" great site with genuine passion and enthusiasm, another nice guy.

Rest peacefully Mike-my condolences to his family and all who knew him.

    Graham.

Very, very sad news. Such a shame when such a great man passes.

And, as a very close friend to you, Jim, I feel for you.

As per many sentiments above, will miss his technical contribution to the sport.

    Condolences to all involved.

    A very sad time.

I'm really sorry to hear this Jim.

Mike clearly had an intellect and understanding rarely seen in our sport - his death is a sad loss to the world of airguns; especially to those of us who crave knowledge of every intricate part of their function.

My thoughts are with you Jim, as well as his other friends and family.

A very sad loss indeed and may I add my condolences to all his family and many friends.

Although I never had the chance to meet Mike in person, our spasmodic communications were a great source of inspiration and pleasure and my saddest note is not having had the chance to share a meal, a jar and good old boinger chin-wag!

    RIP
