    Lapua 'silver' jacketed bullet heads?

    Hi all,

    Just received some lapua 6mm heads I ordered, however thay are 'silver' jacketed, never come accross these before? only the normal copper jacketed heads, any indication as to performance etc?

    I think you will find these are Moly coated, look on the box and see if there is an M on the end of the part number

    Also read up on reviews about these before you use them, from what I have see these can coat the inside of the barrel, some don't like em.

    Are they not the moly coated scenars?
    I regularly use the 6mm 105gn moly'd scenars in my 6br, but my stock of bullets is about 8 years old.
    I think they renamed them silver?

    silver jacket

    I always use silver jackets in my 6.5 x 55 swede buy them in 1000s very accurate but they are expensive, they do coat your barrel with moly but a good scrub will remove it.

    I only use these in my 6mmBR,I think the idea behind Molly'd bullets is that you can (with care ) get a higher MV with 'less' pressure than an Uncoated bullet
