    Finally.... HW55

    Dashed back home after a phone call to say a parcel had arrived for me.
    Fresh from Germany, serial number dates her to 1956/7 happy to say the least.

    Period canvas (oilskin ?) gunbag a great bonus, original dioptre, match heavy barrel and a safety-less Rekord.
    58 years young, wear is nominal and condition excellent for the period, but a service is overdue, a trial firing left a pellet poking out of the barrel.
    Rubber recoil pad perishing at the edges, but still overly solid.

    Nice rifle Harry and a lovely bit of wood , I found the best pellet in my 55mm was Bisley LRG's worth a try

    Congrats! You can easily overhaul these HWs....Its a nice work for cold eavenings in the garage ;-)

    Looks like the German post office was the originator, and this side of the channel was handled by Parcel Force.
