    Air Arms S400 or S200?

Which one of the two would you pick if buying in .177, and why?

    This:

because right now its cheap, really nice and has potential to be upgraded into somthing very special. Has a few multishot directions, can be regged to get 70 odd shots, is lightweight, proven to be very accurate and is stunning imo.

Works out to be 333 quid plus shipping to your door as the euro is weak at the mo.

    S400

The 400 classic is the one i would go for.

More expensive but it has a true 2 stage trigger which is so much better than the AA 200's

The general build quality of the 400 is just so much better than the 200's.

The 400 Classic also gives many more shots/charge - so a no-brainer really(IMO) unless the weight of the rifle or price is a problem

Depends what you want from it, which feels better and what you prefer. The S400 is slightly more refined, the S200 is perfectly functional, has the multishot conversion and has the better barrel.

Both are great guns whichever you go for, you will not be disappointed either way.

My choice would be the S200, the same gun out of the box can be easily converted to fit any role you want.

Had both but still have the S400. You will outgrow the 200 quickly as I did, slightly smaller to use also, so if you are 6' upwards then the 400 is the better bet. Both as accurate as each other, mine 400 has an EV2 barrel on it so is the same as the S200 anyway!

The S400 Classic has more shots, (and a better trigger,) so a better power curve, and a sweet spot that lets you complete an HFT or FT course without worrying. The 400 carbine is the same weight as the S200.

    s200 or s400

everyone is saying the s400 is better engineered but there is one thing you can`t get away from with the s400, the barrel is a flimsy twig compared to the s200, that's why so many get converted to use the s200 barrel, mines in bits waiting to fit a bsa item

I paid Euro 449 for the gun, and a total of Euro 474 with the shipping. It worked out at £345.50

You can work out the cost if you use Transferwise Here

The rates vary but they don't charge massive fees for transferring money abroad if you use your bank you'll probably get an awful rate and big fees.

There's nothing wrong with the S400 barrel, just keep the fig 8 clamp grub screws tight. The LW barrel shoots anything, BSA barrels in .177 can be very pellet fussy. The S200 barrel is very good, (AA used them on the first EV2s, but people didn't want to pay that much for an S200 barrel..!) I've never seen one on an S400 though.

I am going to see a minty S200 on Saturday fitted with the multi shot conversion.
